Searching the library's existing holdings

Use these resources before placing any order to ensure a request does not duplicate current holdings.

  • Voyager online catalog
Printed materials, scores, DVDs, CDs, LPs, e-books, most Films on Demand titles
  • Films on Demand
Search by TITLE not segment; streaming video from Films Media Group.
  • Databases A-Z
Films on Demand, ACLS e-books, Classical Music Online, eBook Collection from Ebsco, and other databases may be useful to search individually before ordering a new acquisition.
  • Online Periodicals
Many serials are available online through subscription sources the library offers.
  • WorldCat
Use to verify bibliographic information, get additional information on an item, or to identify editions the library does not own.

Free e-books

If a requested book is available freely on the Web, we may not need to acquire it.

  • HathiTrust Digital Library
HathiTrust includes many book titles of scholarly interest that are publicly accessible.
  • Google eBooks
Google eBooks includes select books in their entirety, freely accessible. Other books have only selected pages available to preview.
